CHOSEN RELATIONSHIPS

Below is a resource we are offering to you as an example for chosen relationships. There are not many many resources out there as Chosen is an Envoy thing, so if you want do ask us more and we will be happy to share more with you.

As we always say don't watch/listen to like or dislike, agree or disagree with it, but to use it as a starting point for how you might engage with people you are already living life among. This isn't just a how to week or what to say but also who to be.

The art of neighboring

Short bio:

This is a book, a set of videos and a course (to be used with your church if there are others who want to reach the neighbours). It's not aimed specifically at Chosen relationships as we describe them in Envoy but the same principals apply.  Really there isn't a lot of resource out there.

Best suited to:

Those who have a family member who isn't a Christian  or feel called to their literal neighbours or local community.

Could be adapted for:

I think we are already adapting it by using it in this way.

Not so good for:

Quick or overt evangelism or if you want a script or an 'ABC' approach.

Personal experience/How you might use it:

It isn't a matter of using it but applying principles and attitudes to set you up well for the rare moments of evangelism that come with family. What I do beyond applying these principles is to pray that another Christian comes along, connects with the person in mind (outside of being in the Chosen Sphere of relationship) and a conversation begins with that person.
