introduction
Below is an excerpt from the book "Sonship" by Eric Gilmour which I would say is one of the most significant books I've read in the last decade. Its great not just because it has short chapters (!) but because it is a call to press in to encounter the authentic presence of God and to not forget that Jesus is the true goal of our lives rather than ministry.
God has revealed to me recently that I have pursued evangelism and ministry through a desire for significance and ambition rather than out of a place of experiencing His presence and wanting to share about the one I love.
As we approach Easter, let's reflect on the fact that Jesus is the pearl of Great price and our first love. He is our vision, our purpose and the only one who can satisfy. Let's ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Him more fully to us so that we can share who He is out of a place of devotion and love rather than duty.
